Expertise and activities

Knut Stenert advises companies and founders in all areas of copyright and media law, industrial property rights, and also specializes in labor law and the development of compliance strategies. He provides advice both in and out of court.

Knut Stenert supports companies in the legally compliant implementation of their business ideas and, in the event of a conflict, in defending their business in relation to competitors and/or supervisory and law enforcement authorities. He also advises his clients on the development of legally compliant and fair employee structures and on labor and social law issues.

Career

Knut Stenert studied law in Münster, specializing in labor law and industrial property rights/copyright law. After completing his studies, he undertook additional training in industrial property rights at the ITM at the University of Münster. Knut Stenert was also active as a freelance musician, releasing music on various music labels.

Knut Stenert completed his legal clerkship in Münster, Ibbenbüren, and Berlin (at GVL - Gesellschaft zur Verwertung von Leistungsschutzrechten).

Knut Stenert has been admitted to the bar in Hamburg since 2007 and worked there until 2016 at an internationally active Hamburg law firm in copyright and media law, intellectual property law, and commercial criminal law. He advised companies and associations, particularly in the music publishing and film industries, and represented his clients in civil and criminal law cases before specialized chambers throughout Germany.

Knut Stenert then spent two years working in-house as a corporate lawyer in the legal and contract department of a Hamburg-based book publishing group.

Knut Stenert then worked for an international law firm specializing in commercial law in Hamburg, primarily in the areas of labor law, compliance consulting, IP law, data protection law, and general commercial law.

Knut Stenert is working for SBS LEGAL since November 2020.
