Expertise and activities

As a Specialist Attorney for Insurance Law with many years of experience, Jan Wodrich advises and represents policyholders, insurers and insurance agents, as well as medium-sized enterprises and private individuals. His aim is to provide tailored, well-founded and practice-oriented legal advice – particularly on complex legal issues that call for in-depth specialist expertise.

In his practice, insurance law is closely interwoven with further areas of his work – liability law; the law governing fees, remuneration and professional conduct of attorneys, tax advisers, auditors, investment advisers, doctors, dentists and architects; private construction law; contract and damages law; and commercial and intermediary law – extending all the way to compliance matters.

Career

Jan Wodrich studied law at the University of Greifswald (Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität), specialising in intellectual property. After successfully passing the First State Examination, he completed his legal clerkship (Referendariat) at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court (Hanseatisches Oberlandesgericht) in Hamburg. After passing the Second State Examination, he initially worked as an employed attorney, primarily in the areas of contract, telecommunications and insurance law as well as pharmaceutical and food law, before establishing his own practice as an attorney in 2007. Over many years, he represented two insurance companies, as well as numerous policyholders, clients, patients, injured parties and medium-sized entrepreneurs.

Jan Wodrich has been working for SBS Legal since November 2025.
